Share Some Holiday Cheer with a Recovering American Solider

Most of us are blessed to be able to spend the holidays with our family and friends.  Despite any losses or setbacks that may have occurred during the year, we have a lot to be thankful for.  Among those are our freedom and strong military presence around the world.  During this time of the year, I would like to encourage each of you to add one more address to your Holiday Card List…

A Recovering American Solider

c/o Walter Reed Army Medical Center

6900 Georgia Avenue

NW Washington DC 20307-5001

Take a moment of your time and $0.44 postage to remember a soldier that fought and sacrificed for our country.  It may not seem like much but I can only imagine the smile on someone’s face knowing that at this special time of the year, they were not forgotten.

A better tomorrow…

It is hard to believe that it has been a month since last posting to this site.

I have struggled to find the words to post, the words to speak and even words for my Twitter and Facebook.  After many inquiries of “are you ok?”; I knew that I would have to say something eventually so suffice to say… I am prayerful for a better tomorrow.

Although many people consider my life very public, I consider myself a very private person so there are some things that I just don’t feel comfortable sharing… yet.  I am sure that over the coming months the stories will find themselves weaved into my desire to provide personal, professional and spiritual guidance to the world (lol) but at this point; I’m doing some work on me.

The LaKesha Womack Show was scheduled to begin this week but has been postponed to February 20… We are still seeking guests and advertisers.

Thanks to everyone for their concern and for checking on me over the past month.  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and that your new year is off to an extremely productive start.

***Sidenote: This is  my 500th post :::throws confetti on my blog:::

Who is THAT girl?

Most women aspire to be THAT girl…

We want to be the woman who turns heads but not in a slutty or overly lusty sort of way.  We want to be the woman that men wonder about but not always to the extent that they feel comfortable asking.  We want to be the woman who other women feel comfortable enough to strike up a conversation without feeling intimidated.

Oddly, there seems to be a disconnect for some women between being THAT girl and the woman who other women shield their husbands from.  We sometimes find ourselves unable to find common ground with other women or have men approach us in disrespectful ways.

It’s easy to blame the other person and say that they just don’t like me or they’re hating on me but sometimes you have to ask yourself if you are just being typical and living up to the stereotype or if you are carrying yourself in a way that makes people want to get to know you and ask…

Who is THAT girl?

I think I know that he loves me…

Yep… that’s exactly how the words came out and they flowed perfectly.  I wasn’t even mad about it.

When describing the emotions of another person all that you have is what they tell you so how can you ever be for sure?

Of course, there’s the way they make you feel but sometimes our emotions are even more deceiving than the words from someone else’s lips…

Oh yeah, what about the things that they do?  People do all sorts of things for all sorts of reasons…

So how can you ever be for sure?
