It’s My 2 Year Blog-Anniversary

Almost 500 posts and close to 2,000 comments with approximately 50,000 views and one Freshly Pressed Blog

When I made my first post on this site – October 31, 2009, I had no idea what I was doing.  I have always loved to write probably because I have an opinion about everything but never imagined having such an outlet to release my thoughts.  Even more surprising is the response that I have received through my writing and the friends that I have made through this site.

So… today I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported this blog, my blogtalkradio shows and the books that I have written.  I am sure that sometimes you may wonder what I’m talking about or even who I am talking to and trust me, I wonder the same thing sometimes but it’s fun.  I am blessed to have over 100 loyal subscribers and many more that visit on a regular basis.

Please a take a second to check out the first ten posts on this blog… I can’t believe how far we’ve come but how relevant many of these posts still are.  These early posts were the inspiration for “Success Secrets of the Young & Fabulous” which is filled with about 100 of my most popular blogs and profiles of nine young, fabulous and successful people in my network.

October 31, 2009 – In the Absence of Leadership: What happens to an organization when the leader is unwilling or unable to lead?  Many people believe that leadership is merely being able to tell others what to do, however, this definition is extremely limited in scope if not inaccurate.

November 1, 2009 – What Motivates You? I once heard that people are motivated by money, power or sex…  It seems that everything we do is to make money, get ahead or have sex.

November 2, 2009 – The best he ever had… A guy once told me a story about a female he was in bed with and during intercourse she says, “I’m the best you ever had!”  He recalls that during their intimate moment he began thinking about the best he ever had, needless to say, it wasn’t her.

November 3, 2009 - Are you managing your brand? When most business owners think about their company’s image, they don’t look past the name of the organization. However, your company image encompasses every aspect of your business that a customer comes in contact with. Building a cohesive company image is called brand management.

November 4, 2009 – The Art of Networking (Part 1) Networking is just that – working. Networking is not a passive activity. When you go to a networking event, it is not a time to kick your feet up and relax. You should go with the mindset that you are about to do some work.

November 6, 2009 – Guide to formal table settings: With the holidays upon us, many of you young and fabulous professionals will be invited to holiday dinners.  Some of you may even be brave enough to host a holiday dinner this year.

November 7, 2009 – Guide to wine glasses: It seems that as we get older, drinking wine becomes cooler.  I prefer drinking wine, especially in social settings, because it is less tempting to down the whole glass.  Wine is best when sipped so that the flavor can be enjoyed.  There are also many types of wines that can be paired with a variety of meals.  It also goes well with conversation because there is so much small talk that can be created around a glass of wine.

November 9, 2009 – Employee Benefits on a Budget: As a small business owner, I understand the financial constraints that limit what we can and cannot do for our employees.  However there are some benefits that we can offer our employees to help make their lives a little easier and hopefully reduce our turnover.  The more benefits that company is able to provide to an employee, the more loyal the employee becomes to the organization.  Have you ever heard of someone say they are staying with a company because of the insurance or because they have accrued so many days off and don’t want to lose them.  You can provide similar benefits to increase your employee’s loyalty.

November 9, 2009 - Success Secret #1 – Take yourself seriously if you want others to take you seriously.

November 9, 2009 - Success Secret #2:  It’s not always about you…
