Dear Santa…

In case you’re wondering, I still believe in Santa and don’t think I’m too old to write him a letter filled my desires for a Merry Christmas.

Dear Santa,

This year was met with challenges to my niceness but I feel pretty confident that I didn’t make the naughty list so I am writing with my wish list and look forward to seeing my goodies under the Christmas tree in the morning.  (Your cookies and milk will be on the dining room table ;) )

  1. Victoria’s Secret gift cards – their semi-annual sale started yesterday.  You know I love a good deal.
  2. A BlackBerry Torch - I love my Curve but it’s time for an upgrade.  They have a great deal on them at http://wirefly.com
  3. A Life Application Bible - it’s hard to believe you can lose a bible, but I’m prayerful that whoever has it is putting it to good use.  So if you don’t mind a leather-bound replacement would be greatly appreciated and used.
  4. A new set of golf clubs – for me playing golf is as much about looking good as playing well so I think a new set will be the motivation that I need to play more often this upcoming year.
  5. A chocolate diamond ring – Since there are no engagement rings in my immediate future, you are the perfect man to slide something special on my finger (size 5 please).

Thanks, Santa!

The best gifts of 2009

This year I am taking some time to reflect on the three best gifts that I received in 2009 and I want to share them with you.

  1. Social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook.  I know that I was a little late jumping on the bandwagon but now that I have, I am hooked.  Using Facebook has allowed me to connect with friends from high school and college that I often wondered about but did not really believe I would have the opportunity reconnect with let along to be so involved in their lives.  Twitter, on the  hand, has been great to connect with other like-minded professionals.  I am the Queen of Retweeting. I don’t have the time or energy to find all of those inspiring quotes but I love to read and repost others.
  2. Love.  This year had some highs and lows but the love of my family and friends helped to get me through them all.  A lot of people only look to others for help when things  start going wrong but I like to share my successes with those that I care about and work to help them become successful.  Love is more than a feeling, it is an action.  I am thankful to all of the people that took the time to show me how much they love me.
  3. Time.  No moment in life is promised to anyone.  Sometimes I get frustrated about little stuff but I always stop myself because life is too precious to spend any moment not enjoying it to the fullest.

Once all of the wrapping paper has been torn and tossed, I hope you will take a moment to think of the best gifts that you received in 2009.  You may be surprised to find that the best gifts come in the strangest packages.  I wish you and your family a happy holiday season.
